I like the fact Spain has been able to play up and down to the level of their competitions. They are not winning pretty, they just plainly win games and that's all it matters at the end of the day.

As I posted in my Spain PK thread, the core of this team is at their peak and this is their best chance at glory...who knows what will happen in 4 years time.

Not to dismiss what the Dutch has achieved thus far, they have shown they can hang with anyone on any given day but I am a tad concerned about their defense and the fact Robbie Van Persie is always frustrated out there and tend to take things into his own hand, which is never good in games with this magnitude. Del Bosque dropped Torres, will RVP have the same fate?

Spain just seems to have more at this for me. Talent up and down the lineup and they are playing as a true team.

Guess we will all find out on Sunday. My lean towards Spain at this point, pending further analysis.

keep writing off the dutch...

I don't think anybody is writing off the Dutch, cocktail. I have given them my acknowledgement but the truth is they have not been seriously challenged, outside of the Brazil game.

If you have good reasons why you think the Dutch will prevail on Sunday, put them here and let's have some debate in a mature and intelligent manner.

i'd like to take the dutch, but i've seen too many mistakes from their D and goalkeeper. hard to believe spain would not capitalize on them....and then play keep away.

I love this.
The Dutch have won every game in the WC finals,
and punters here are falling all over themselves
to lay 2-1 on Spain to win on Sunday.

2-1 on Spain presents very little value imo.

My mistake. I misread the original post on this thread,
thinking the 2-1 was for Spain, but it was for a draw.
I thought it was a bit odd as well.

Thanks for the clarification.

I am shocked this line opened at Pinnacle at Spain 0,-.5. I thought it would open at pk.

Just based on how the line opened, I think Spain wins this in regulation.

13/5 for Holland is fair, they don't rely on tactics so much as the Spanish. Still, the game will be pretty balanced, at least in the first half. William Hill has it at 8/1 for Spain to win 2-1, that's what I'm going for.
